Abstract
Description
This is the 1735 edition of Sydenham’s Opera Medica. Only less than 20 libraries across the US have this specific edition. According to the curator of the Henry R. Winkler Center, Gino Passi, Sydenham was held in esteem for the success of his treatment of smallpox, his laudanum treatments, and for his advocacy of the use of "Peruvian bark" as a treatment of malaria. Sydenham was posthumously labeled the “father of English medicine” or the “English Hippocrates.”
