Description
This item is a new aquisiotion of the DAAP teaching collection. The items in this collection are meant to be handled and used for teaching and exhibition. This is an engraving by Master of the Die, who was born in the early 16th century, and was a pupil of Marc Antonio Raimondi. Master of the Die worked in Rome from 1532 to 1550. The engraving shows Apollo shooting a phython with an arrow. The engraving in on a light beige laid paper, and appears to be backed on the verso with heat set tissue. There are three handwritten graphite inscriptions on the verso, two along the bottom corners and one on the top left corner.
