Abstract
Description
This item is a silver-colored circular metal coin/token from the 1888 Cincinnati Centennial Exposition and was used as a souvenir. It is roughly 1 ½” in diameter and has a smooth outer edge. The recto of the token features text that reads “Centennial Souvenir” and an image of buildings that were likely part of the exposition. The verso features text that reads “Mabley & Carew / Shoes Clothing Hats. / Opp. Fountain Cin.” This item arrived at the lab inside of a paper envelope with an eBay mailing sticker adhered to it. This object came to the lab to receive scanning, matting, and long-term storage.
