Description

To ensure safe handling of this object and to prevent further damage, the losses of the glass were filled with Vivak. The Vivak was precisely cut and placed into the missing areas. To protect the edges of the lantern slide and to secure the filled areas, a strip of Mylar was used along the edges and strapped with a small piece of filmoplast R. The lantern slide was then sandwiched between two pieces of Vivak, and secured with a strip of toned Filmoplast R toned with acrylic paint. The object was housed in a four flap enclosure and placed in an envelope.
