Description
This is a letterpress printed book of music that dates to 1820. Each note is an individually laid piece of type. It was received by the preservation lab in poor condition. The paper covering the boards was lifting in many areas, and there was significant loss of the paper. The leather at the spine was starting to delaminate at the hinges. There were tears and losses throughout the textblock, most significantly at the first and last several leaves. Several pages were also creased and cockled. Pages 15 and 121 were missing from the textblock, with small fragments remaining at the gutter.
