Description
This case binding came to the Preservation Lab in poor condition from the Archives & Rare Books Library. To facilitate safe handling of this volume, treament consisted of dry surface cleaning the hinged leaves, in particular the albumen photographs, stabilizing the inner joints, mending and rebuilding the headcaps, and re-attaching the upper board. A custom enclosure was then created for long-term storage and handling.
