Description
Beginning in the nineteenth century, "German classical scholarship had a formative influence in America" with many American classicists studying in Germany, according to 'In Pursuit of Ancient Pasts' written by Stephen Dyson. This book is an important German imprint that dates to 1914. This is volume two (plates) of three volumes that documents antique vases from the Acropolis at Athens, published by the Imperial German Archaeological Institute. Each volume consists of two books, one book composed of text and the other book comprised of a series of printed plates. In total, there are three volumes that make up six books.
